Kenyan Government and Education

The Kenyan government subsidizes the cost of education in public schools but the provided amounts are insufficient in enabling the necessary level of quality education. As a result, schools are forced to impose extra levies and taxes. This makes it more difficult for the less fortunate to afford and attend, leading to a big percentage of school dropouts.

Phildan Memorial’s Aim

Phildan Memorial Education Center works to serve orphans and vulnerable kids who cannot afford the high cost of quality education. Providing affordable education to the children of the Kisumu Country allows them to learn and opens doors of opportunity.

In order to continue onto secondary school, in class 8, all students must pass a test. The goal is to prepare the students to the point where they can pass this exam with ease and can continue on to achieve higher levels of education.
